Tales of Ta’veren & Concordat of Illian
"The tempest of years, storms of time, winds of strife and waves of war, grinding down the walls of knowledge. With each passing day, we are lessened and demeaned, huddling about the candle of enlightenment, shielding it from the gales of savagery. Our lifesblood, draining into the abyss of ignorance. Hold fast the walls, buttress them, staunch the bleeding. We are to preserve, we must record, we are called to teach. We guard the memories of mankind against the tides of oblivion."

Aillande
Ehlianon
Ehlianon Matsuri
A tall, regal Kandori, Ehlianon Matsuri spends her days scouring the vast Tower Library, seeking to recreate a catalogue of sources, and occasionally happening on a literary work thought long lost. Ehlianon is something of an introvert, and prefers not to travel far from the island-city of Tar Valon, perhaps an unfortunate effect from the sudden death of her warder while they were embarked on a mission. Ehlianon was a child of the streets, living a pauper's life in the poorer quarter of Chachin, forced to steal to provide for her younger siblings. She was caught, brought before a magistrate, and heard his justice. She stills bears the scar of her branding as a thief, large and livid on her left hand.

Katherielle
Katherielle Dorasu
Katherielle Sedai sat on the Brown Council for nearly fifty years, and exerted great influence within her own Ajah, as well in the Tower at large, for she was regarded as the ultimate authority of the rise of Artur Hawkwing, Hundred Years War, and the Covenant of Ten Nations. All were topics that many believed held some relevance in the tumultuous era after the Aiel War, a field of expertise which stems from her attendance while an Accepted on Aisa Harune, the last Aes Sedai to have seen the last fighting in the Hundred Years War. Katherielle later dwelt among the Sea Folk for nearly thirty years dpoing research on the voyage of Luthair Mondwin before returning to Tar Valon with chests of scrolls and palimpsests, and a new novice from the Aithan a'Miere of potentially prodigious strength. Recently, she has been dispatched to the court of Queen Ewelyne of Andor, leading a retinue of three younger sisters, to help restore good relations between the Lion Throne and the Amyrlin Seat.

Liawen
Liawen Muranin
A tall, willowy red-headed woman, Liawen Muranin is the newest Sitter among the three for the Brown in the Hall. Pleasant and genial, her placement in the Hall was something of a surprise, for she had never been known to espouse such ambitions before. In the upper echelon of Aes Sedai potency, she is a capable sister, who has been known to travel far and wide at a moment's notice to investigate rumors of rare books and other precious scraps of information. Fascinated by Tel'an'rhiod, she is one of the foremost scholars on the subject in the Tower, and keeps watchful tabs on the novices for signs of that rare talent. She is a close political ally of Perseinde Apeneos of the Blue and Tianan Tanches of the Green. Liawen is bonded to Jaesin Tenwald, a Cairhienin man who is a trained clocksmith and is fascinated by mechanical objects, while being swift and deadly with his saber. Her young cousin, Amelle Muranin, is a recently raised Green sister.

Sitters in the Hall of the Tower:
- Delia Breyfer
A tall, imperious Andorwoman with flaxen hair and blazing blue eyes, Delia Breyfer comports herself with a strident dynamism somewhat out of place among the more sedate and scholarly women of the Brown Ajah. By all regards a brilliant woman, she possesses the ability to recall the words on a page after glancing at it for only a moment. She is believed to sit high upon the interior council of the Brown Ajah, for all that such rankings are a closely held secret. Still, for all her striking good looks, she dresses simply, in plainly cut dresses of brown wool, rarely with any lace or embroidery, and never wears any jewels other than her Great Serpent ring.
- Maende Alwey
Among the eldest of the sisters of the White Tower, Maende Sedai has held her seat in the Hall for nearly forty-five years, and was a strong supporter of Elsbedhe Bodwell, and a bitter adversary of Noriko Shetsuma and Tezanya Vandanyar, eager to have them sent off to hide in cottages in the hinterlands. Born in Cairhien nearly three centuries ago, Maende Alwey is in the upper echelon of the sisters, quite strong and capable. An arch-conservative, she holds regimented opinions on virtually everything, from choices in literature to political decisions. Over the course of her tenure in the Tower, she has authored almost twenty books, included celebrated biographies of Timosa Alivoro, the "Iron Amyrlin" and Isein Menelas, the near legendary Brown who helped restore the Tower library after it was partially burnt during the Trolloc Wars. She is reputedly looking for a successor of her own choosing.
- Carise Narault
A young Brown, born in Maracru in Tarabon, Carise was dispatched to aid Katherielle Sedai in her research in Cantorin. One of the few junior Aes Sedai to speak the Old Tongue fluently, Carise's skills in translating old texts is a great assistance. Upon her return to the Tower, she was accompanied by her newly bonded gaidin, Jisan din Corai Black Eel.

- Haleine Serimon
The Murandian born Haleine Sedai is a reserved, sagacious sister of the Brown, chiefly interested in collecting and classifying botanical specimens. One of the earliest women taken on as a protégé of Katherielle Sedai, her coolly reticent persona masks her true among the Browns as the administrator of the Brown Ajah's network of observers. She is also known to keep charge of Katherielle's many communiqués.
- Heranyse Belgaros
A Brown of Illianer origins, Heranyse Belgaros maintains a small observatory in one of the lesser towers of the White Tower, replete with a fabulous spying glass the size of a three barrels laid end to end, with multiple lenses of Sea Folk glass contained with a shell of leather and brass. Heraynse is chiefly interested in celestial movements and astronomy, and is working on a new, more accurate version of the Farede Calendar.
- Marande Belora
A sophisticated, charming woman, Marande often is mistaken for a noblewoman or fashionable marchande, for she is newly raised and lacks the ageless features. Affecting a sleek, elegant style, she is far from the usual Brown sister, hosting poetry readings and discussions on literature. Indeed her cause among the Browns in the classification of fine literature and poetry from the famed scholars of old Essenia, and she hopes to compile them into a definitive series of reference works. She is a good friend of Suraya Ashalde of the White, who shares her interest in Essenian literature.
- Marewyn Corham
A robust woman with a warm temperament, Marewyn is from Braem Wood, in Andor, and a close friend of Elivet Carnayar of the Blue for they share a fondness for the outdoors, a trait that is odd in a Brown. Marewyn also is fascinated by Elivet's "readings," and is chief among the Browns studying them. Marewyn is notorious among Aes Sedai for her love of ale, and has had many talking-tos about proper decorum.
- Mayam Menazo
A newly raised Tairen Brown, she was dispatched to assist Katherielle Sedai in her efforts on Cantorin. Born amid the islets of the Fingers of the Dragon, she was chosen for her tasks because of her affinity with the sea, and the ways of sailors and other mariners. Upon her return to the Tower, she was accompanied by her newly bonded gaidin, Jiral din Corai Nine Winds.

- Olivara Niroso
A nobly-born Tairen, the senior Brown sister Olivara Niroso leads a sedate, unexceptional life as a librarian in the great Tower Library. Within a hair's breadth of the minimum threshold of acceptable Aes Sedai strength, Olivara Sedai does possess an amazing Talent to 'read residues' and is able to easily demonstrate the weaves to others, making her an effective teacher, should she have wished it. Her talent caught the attention of Katherielle Sedai, many years ago, when the former was still an Accepted.
- Yasindrin Maraad
Born to a Tarabonner blacksmith and his wife in Elmora, Yasindin is a strapping woman, with powerful arms, and a tensely corded body. Choosing Brown upon her raising, nigh sixty years ago, Yasindrin maintains a physique that belies her nature as a quiet scholar by undergoing a regimen of exercise, usually involving weighted balls and ropes. Beloved by the novices, she is as ribald as many a Green in her appraisal of men. Her warder is a sleek, chiseled beauty named Idon Eswell, and they are widely known to be lovers.
Logs of Role-Play:
None yet. Hopefully, some will appear sooner or later.
- Carmeine Fenn
A simple-faced girl from
Lugard, and currently a novice, Carmeine has been taken under Ehlianon Sedai's

It also appears that Carmeine may manifest a Dreaming talent, which makes
her a prize for the Brown Ajah nad has also earned her the attention of Liawen Sedai.
- Gaelyn din Corai Silver Storm
A young lass of the Aithan a'Miere who has been brought to Tar Valon by Katherielle Sedai as part of some bargain she struck with the matriarchs of Clan Corai. With a respectable degree of potential, Gaelyn was relinquished to the Aes Sedai for a great price. She is the sister of Jiral din Corai Black Eel and Jisan din Corai Nine Winds.
- Trise Noerien
A quick-witted Accepted
from Cairhien, Trise serves as Ehlianon Sedai's research assistant, and
she a prodigious memory for names and facts. Rumor has it that she once
served in a house of thieves, putting her skills to illegal uses before
coming to Tar Valon.
Books and Other Works of Research:
This is a section that might prove useful. Much like NPCs, perhaps we should begin to compile a list of literary works and such that would be referred to in role-play by the Browns, as the definitive texts that are frequently used as we go about our research.
